Paul Stancato is an award-winning director/ choreographer who works in theatre, film and television.
Paul has been tapped to create and direct a new show spectacular for Universal Studios Beijing. The new park will open in 2020 and the show will be held in a state-of-the-art 1500 seat theatre. Check back for more in the coming months.
Palm Beach Dramaworks- one of South Florida's premier not-for-profit theatres- will be bringing Paul on board to helm Collected Stories by Donald Margolis for their 2016-'17 season. The play is set to open in January of 2017.
He recently directed/ choreographed the 2014-'15 National Tour of Jekyll and Hyde.
From 2012-2014, he served as the Artistic Director for Franco Dragone's, The House of Dancing Water in Macau, China.
He was the Resident Director for the National Tour of Disney's The Lion King, 2006 -2010 (2008 Helen Hayes nomination for Best Touring Musical).
He directed the First National Tour of The Wedding Singer and was also Assistant to Choreographer, Rob Ashford, for the Broadway production (Tony nomination for Best Musical and Best Choreography).
Other directing/choreographing credits include: Powerhouse (Sinking Ship Productions, NYC), Plaid Tidings (Flatrock Playhouse), Hairspray and Sound of Music (John W. Engeman Theater, NY), Trav’lin the Musical (NYMF Festival Best Ensemble Honorable Mention), Greenwood (NYMF) Crazy For You, Godspell, Guys and Dolls, Zombies from the Beyond, Rockshow (Zipper Theatre, NY), Heart Rising (World Premier), Einstein’s Dreams (Best Direction Award New York Fringe Festival), Dystopia Gardens (NY Fringe Festival).
He conceived and co-wrote ROCKSHOW, an interactive rock concert, with writing partners Chris Blisset and Matt Uremovich, which ran Off-Broadway at the Zipper Theater and Club El Flamingo.
Performance credits include, Blue Man Group (Blue Man) and De La Guarda (original New York cast member/Captain).
Paul is currently developing anew musical for Broadway based on the life and times of 80's art star, Jean Michel Basquiat.
