Paul Stancato is a versatile director, choreographer, and creative producer whose work spans Broadway, national tours, international stages, and immersive experiences. He began his artistic journey as a performer and musician, appearing in groundbreaking productions like Blue Man Group and the original New York cast of De La Guarda. That foundation continues to inform his collaborative approach and visual storytelling today.

Paul thrives on building creative partnerships and turning bold ideas into compelling theatrical experiences. He has directed and choreographed a wide range of productions, from world premieres to beloved revivals—including Friends: The Parody Musical (Off-Broadway, Las Vegas, Australia, Europe), The Santa Switch (formally What a Wonderful World ), and Beautiful (John W. Engeman Theatre). His production of Jersey Boys became the longest-running show in Engeman Theatre history. Other regional favorites include Forever Plaid and Grease at Drury Lane Theatre.

His touring credits include Jekyll & Hyde (Helen Hayes Award nomination), The Wedding Singer (IRNE, SALT, BroadwayWorld nominations), and Flashdance the Musical (Wellington Award, New Zealand). Beyond traditional theatre, Paul has collaborated with Cirque du Soleil, Universal Studios, Stryker, Santander Bank, Primary Wave Music Publishing and country artist Clay Walker, bringing theatrical flair to commercial and branded content.

As a writer and director, Paul created Rockshow, an original play with music that ran Off-Broadway and starred Jonathan Roumie (The Chosen) and Basquiat, a musical based on the life and times of the iconic NYC artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

On Broadway, he worked alongside Julie Taymor as Resident Director of The Lion King for four years, and assisted Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford on The Wedding Singer at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

He is a proud member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, NAMT, Drama League, SDCF Observership Program, and Ars Nova. He holds an M.F.A. from the University of Florida and a B.A. from Western Illinois University.

Paul has served as Artistic Director for Timber Lake Playhouse, Resident Artistic Director for Franco Dragone’s House of Dancing Water in Macau, China. In 2024, he was named Producing Artistic Director of Greenbrier Valley Theatre, West Virginia’s state professional theatre and, most recently, is the founder of Nova Coda Productions where he develops original musicals, live events, and immersive experiences in close collaboration with writers, performers, and producers—always in pursuit of work that challenges, connects, and inspires.
